Born and raised in Chennai (Madras), India, Rebekah Cuddington moved to Canada in 2000, where she has lived across several provinces and cities—each landscape shaping her evolving relationship with education, healing, and creative expression. She now resides in Campbell River, on the territories of the Ligwiłda’xw people, drawn by a deep desire to live closer to Mother Nature and her rhythms.

Before turning to painting, Rebekah built a career in holistic health and community care. After earning a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology (Health and Sport Studies) from the University of Saskatchewan in 2013, she continued her studies at the Canadian College of Osteopathy in Toronto. Her research on osteopathic treatment for women experiencing primary dysmenorrhea revealed the deep interconnections between the physical body, emotional experience, and generational history. This inquiry awakened in her a profound understanding of healing from within—as both a scientific and artistic process.

Through painting, Rebekah translates this holistic perspective into visual form. Her work explores the interconnectedness of body, spirit, and environment, often guided by intuitive movement, organic forms, and the textures of lived experience. Each piece becomes a meditation on healing—an offering that bridges anatomy and emotion, science and soul. Rooted in compassion and curiosity, her paintings honor the unseen stories that shape human existence and the quiet, transformative power of creation itself.

A self-taught artist, Rebekah works primarily with acrylic on wood and canvas, and also explores the tactile discipline of wood burning (pyrography).
